Hi, I'm Hamza Nasher-Alneam
Computer science freshman at UMBC, with an interest in software development, ui/ux design, cybersecurity, and system administration
About me
When not doing student things, I enjoy writing unoptimized JavaScript code and messing around with Linux on desktop and server. Currently I'm focused on the CyberDawgs club and schoolwork, but hopefully I'll get back to programming soon.
Projects
Last spring, I was working on multiplayer for Medium Rare, a game started at QuHacks. Before that, I was working on a prayer times plasmoid (widget) for KDE, as well as Produced Demand, a bus management game build with Godot.
Prominent among my older projects is FetchCV, a developer profile site built with a friend. Another smaller project was Activity Log, a time tracking tool with graphs. If you want to see what I'm working on this week, it'll be up on my GitHub.
Achievements
With three teammates, won 1st place in the UMBC CDE cyber competition. I was on a Linux box.
Kai and I won 1st place on the beginner track for QuHacks 2025 with our game Medium Rare.
Urdons and I won first place and the technical award at the MAGIC STEP Challenge!
Two of the teams (I was on one) from the Broadneck Robotics club made it to the VEX Over Under state championship!
